A Brief History
This town is close to Leesburg, North of State Route 7 and south of the Potomac River. Leesburg is the county where some of Virginia’s most famous families resided (most notably Robert E. Lee, from the Lee family, who was the Confederate States Army commander during the American Civil War). This town had a planned community inception in 1740. Today, it has a population of almost 11,260.
Before the Revolutionary War, the Lee family opened a cotton manor in Lansdowne.
